Originally from Scotland, we made Uganda our home in 2014 when we came here to build Isunga Lodge, our hotel at Kibale Forest.
The idea of Isunga Expeditions evolved through our experiences managing the lodge, from talking to our guests who tell us what they have (or have not) enjoyed about their travels and their impressions of the country. Also, we love to travel in Uganda ourselves. It has a huge diversity of landscape, nature and people and offers a wealth of unforgettable experiences.
As every traveller is unique, we don’t offer a standard tour and there are no fixed itineraries. Tell us what you would like to experience, an idea of budget and we can create a complete package for you, fully customised with your interests in mind. Alternatively, put your own itinerary together and we can help with transport, accommodation reservations, primate permits, activity booking etc.
We believe that everyone should travel responsibly and have a positive impact on the people and places visited. We use local guides, support local businesses and initiatives and offer authentic experiences. We prefer to seek out partners who are actively trying to reduce waste and all visitors are asked to bring their own refillable water bottles to minimise single use plastics.
If you can, consider slowing your travels down a little, take your time and fully absorb what’s around you in this wonderful country.
Hope to see you in Uganda soon.
