If it’s adventure you’re looking for then Uganda has no shortage. In fact, the adventure capital of East Africa, Jinja, is located on the banks of the river Nile and boasts white water rafting (reputed to be some of the best in the world), bungee jumping, kayaking, quad biking and horse riding among its many attractions.
Of course you can enjoy more relaxed activities such as a boat cruise to the source of the Nile or a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake, or a horse safari at Lake Mburo where you get close to the animals, or maybe go on hot air balloon safari at Murchison National Park.
For the serious trekker/mountaineer the Rwenzori Mountains provide the ultimate challenge with 5 of the 10 highest mountain peaks in Africa, although easier low-level walks are available. Mountain biking is becoming more popular with short and longer tour options.
